FLEXAFIT is a figure skating performance system built on the FLEXAFIT Methodology™ — a high-performance training approach engineered by Signe Ronka.
It integrates biomechanics, alignment, strength, mobility, and technical development into one system, ensuring that every correction made off the ice translates directly into improved performance on the ice.
Unlike traditional training, which often separates technique and fitness, the FLEXAFIT Methodology™ connects them — so skaters don’t just train harder, they train with precision.
At its core, FLEXAFIT focuses on how the body moves, building efficient, repeatable patterns that lead to consistent jumps, stronger skating skills, and long-term progression.
PLAN. SKATE. TRACK.
The system behind the progress.
The FLEXAFIT Methodology™ is a structured, biomechanics-driven training system designed to identify and correct the root causes of technical breakdowns in skating.
It is built on five core principles:
Rather than focusing on repetition alone, the FLEXAFIT Methodology™ prioritizes correct movement patterns, so improvements are not only achieved — but sustained.
This approach allows skaters to:
FLEXAFIT offers programs for skaters of all levels—from beginners to elite competitors—as well as for coaches and adult skaters looking to improve their fitness and technique.
Traditional training often separates on-ice technique and off-ice fitness.
FLEXAFIT connects them.
We focus on how the body moves, ensuring that strength, alignment, and movement patterns directly transfer to skating performance.
Because repetition alone doesn’t create progress.
If a movement pattern is incorrect, repeating it reinforces the issue.
FLEXAFIT focuses on identifying the root cause and correcting it.
FLEXAFIT offers:
Most skaters don’t need more training — they need clarity.
FLEXAFIT assessments identify:
This allows us to create targeted training plans.
Yes. Many skaters come to FLEXAFIT after feeling stuck or plateaued.
Through the FLEXAFIT Methodology™, we identify the exact technical or movement limitation that is preventing progress and address it directly so development can resume. This often involves targeted improvements in mobility, strength, and flexibility—individually or in combination—depending on the skater’s needs.
Every correction is approached with a focus on efficient movement patterns, proper alignment, and long-term athlete development, with injury prevention built into every stage of the process.
Progress is tracked through structured assessments, a level-based skills system, ongoing coaching feedback, and targeted homework assignments—ensuring each skater’s development is measurable, intentional, and continuously progressing.
This depends on the skater’s goals, but consistency is key.
Even 1–2 targeted sessions per week can create significant improvement when training is structured correctly.
